Please Note: This program has an updated start time (originally publicized starting 12:30 p.m. ET).
Learn simple metal embossing to transform an ordinary aluminum can into a holiday ornament or objet d’art for everyday decorating. Students choose from several patterns inspired by early 20th-century paper ornaments found in the collection of the National Museum of American History. Safely cutting apart a can, using embossing tools and techniques, adding beaded embellishments, and applying color using alcohol inks are covered in this workshop. The supply list primarily focuses on items readily found around the home. No previous experience is required.
