Knitters confident in their beginning skills are invited to try techniques that provide an entertaining experience for the knitter and a beautiful knitted piece too. The class covers double knitting (working 2 layers at one time), thrumming, (creating super-warm items with insulation), knitting backwards (easy baubles and strips), strip knitting (working on projects one piece at a time), and freeform knitting (using a template rather than a pattern).
Students must be able to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, increase, and decrease. Students need a selection of yarn and yarn scraps from your stash (bring two colors of worsted weight yarn to the first class), size 10 and size 5 knitting needles, size 8 double-pointed needles, scissors, and a yarn or tapestry needle.
