Materials for this program

By Morgan Kuster

In the summer edition of Sketching the Smithsonian, take an artful break and travel across the fascinating, vast collections of this extraordinary museum institution. Explore beaches, boats, and beyond each week as you learn about a featured collection object. Then relax into the process as the instructor guides you through breaking down and studying the object as you prepare to sketch.

This sketching break is designed to be easy to join: All you need is a pencil and paper. If you are feeling adventurous, have your colored pencils, crayons, or other favorite colored drawing tools at the ready.
