In the first of the two sessions, the basics of reverse glass painting and designing the clock are discussed. Examples of design possibilities and strategies for drawing a sketch on the glass are shown. Students design clocks by first drawing the design on the front of the clock. Any necessary outlining is done on the back of the clock.

In the second session, students learn several techniques and options before painting and decorating the clocks. The instructor reviews how to lightly seal the finished paint, install the clock mechanism, and hang a clock.
