The Pinacoteca di Brera, or Brera Art Gallery, is the main public gallery for paintings in Milan. It grew out of the Brera Academy, an academy of fine arts in Milan, and in 2024 added a new modern art wing. With masterpieces by Andrea Mantegna, Giovanni Bellini, Piero della Francesca, Tintoretto, Caravaggio, and Francesco Hayez, the Pinacoteca is a pre-eminent collection of Italian paintings from the 13th to the 20th century. Italian Renaissance art expert Rocky Ruggiero analyzes this impressive art gallery.
