Much like a musical composition follows a specific key, this watercolor-based workshop—also adaptable to oil and pastel—aims to simplify the painting process using color harmony. Starting with a basic review of color theory, learn to observe and identify an overarching color “key” in your subject. Through hands-on practice, explore how tertiary colors emerge from this key and how color temperature shapes painting. By the end, you have a streamlined and cohesive strategy for color. A beginning painting class or equivalent experience is strongly recommended but not required for this workshop.
