Working primarily with wood and boxes as foundation materials, explore a range of options for creating dimensional art pieces that can be freestanding or wall-mounted. Draw on the work of assemblage artists such as Joseph Cornell, Louise Nevelson, and Betye Saar as inspiration for creating your assemblage interpretation and explore the range from cabinets of curiosities to personal shrines incorporating personal mementos and objects. Make a striking personal statement using collage and embellishment with such items as metal fixtures, watch parts, charms, wire, beads, and found objects and lighting.
