Illustration of Orchis provincialis Balb., 1912

What is it about orchids that attracts us to them? The first written evidence of a human’s attraction to orchids was by Confucius in 500 B.C.E. This is a fun, relaxing class that presents facts and trivia about orchids, discusses famous orchids, and explains how 120 million years of evolution have created the family of flowering plants that we know as Orchidaceae.
