Materials for this program

The log cabin quilt, with blocks of simple strips built around a center, is a traditional style yet remains a modern favorite. The block is a framework for exploring color, value contrast, and design options and is suitable for vintage textiles, new yardage, or scraps. Modern and historic examples of log cabin quilts, along with the instructor’s work, are shown.

Stitching may be done by hand or machine. Familiarity with basic quilt making and your sewing machine are helpful. Instruction includes how to finish 10 blocks into a table runner. Feel free to make as many blocks as you wish.
