Get ready for a spectacular party with a French accent! The annual Francophonie Cultural Festival spotlights the music, art, literature, film, cuisine, and customs of French-speaking countries and regions from across the globe. One of the celebration’s highlights, La Grande Fête is always magnifique, and this year’s bash is no exception.

The don’t-miss event is your passport for a world tour of francophone cultures. Starting at 7, sample food and drink from more than 20 embassies as you explore each nation’s unique attractions and traditions. Participating organizations and countries include Alliance Francaise of Washington, DC; Gabon; Belgium; Guinea; Madagascar; Vietnam; Québec; Canada; Senegal; Serbia; Guinea; Democratic Republic of the Congo; Cameroon; France; Mauritania; Kosovo; Central African Republic; Haiti; French-American Chamber of Commerce; and Switzerland—and that’s just the start of the growing list.

This year’s live entertainment features Senegalese Afropop artist Cheikh Ibra Fam. After a stint with the internationally-renowned supergroup Orchestra Baobab, Cheikh Ibra Fam’s solo career has taken audiences around the world by storm with its blend of funk, soul, hip hop, and more. His unique sound made him a Radio France International Talent and part of Putomayo’s World Discovery Program.

Don’t miss the chance to experience the best of the French-speaking world—without leaving D.C.

This event is organized by Smithsonian Associates in partnership with La Maison Française.
