Materials for this program

By Lauren Kingsland

This class is for those who feel utterly untalented at sewing yet want to make a quilt. Patience and acceptance are the ground rules here. The class begins with the basics to be sure everyone has a good start. Strategies for piecing, appliqué, quilting, and finishing are tailored to the needs of the class. Materials, both traditional and nontraditional, are explored, and tools are explained. Informed improvisation is encouraged. Journey from not knowing to bold experiments to find your sense of quiltmaking confidence. This is a beginner-level class.
