Did you know that there is a top-of-the-food-chain predator likely living in your neighborhood? This animal moves silently at speeds of 20 to 40 miles per hour and eats animals twice its size. Not a bear or mountain lion or coyote, it’s a Great Horned Owl, found in every state except Hawaii and in almost every habitat you can imagine.

Mark H.X. Glenshaw—a naturalist who has closely observed and documented the lives of Great Horned Owls in Forest Park in St. Louis, Missouri, since 2005—takes a deep dive into the study of these magnificent creatures in a program rich in audio clips, photos, and videos. He covers the basic facts about the species; how he finds these owls; their camouflage, nocturnal habits, and silent flight; and the various behaviors he has seen and documented.
