Following in the tradition of great fantasy literature like the Harry Potter stories, The Lord of the Rings, The Wizard of Oz, and Peter Pan, campers explore the genres of fantasy and science–fiction by creating their own mystical worlds while honing their writing skills. They create a map of their imaginary realm, play fantasy games, and improvise and perform scenes from their favorite fairy tales and sci–fi stories. Smithsonian museums and the mysteries they hold provide inspiration for the new worlds campers create in this hands–on, interdisciplinary camp.
