Learn the techniques and joys of working with chalk pastels, a versatile medium that plays well with other mediums such as colored pencil, charcoal, and watercolors. Different types of chalk pastel are introduced to all levels of artists who would like to create beautiful, dynamic artwork. Demonstrations of techniques are the main focus, along with the history and versatility of the medium.
This class gives students a chance to produce several pieces of art while getting comfortable with pastels and appropriate tools. Students work in their favorite genre: portrait, still life, abstract, or landscape.
