The sessions include a visual presentation, discussion, and hands-on exercises to help participants gain a finer appreciation for compositional aspects such as structure and balance, positive and negative space, contrast, and color. Participants create collages based on artworks and themes discussed while exploring connections between the formal elements of visual art in combination with the emotional impact of works of art as a whole.
