Materials for this program

This course examines fundamental concepts of composition and their practical application in studio-art practice, offering participants tools to enrich their work as well as analyze and appreciate visual art in general.

The sessions include a visual presentation, discussion, and hands-on exercises to help participants gain a finer appreciation of compositional aspects such as structure and balance, positive and negative space, contrast, and color. Participants create collages based on artworks and themes discussed while exploring connections between the formal elements of visual art in combination with the emotional impact of works of art as a whole.
