Milk Bar’s Christina Tosi started Bake Club because in both good times and tough times, baking brings people joy. Since the height of the pandemic, Tosi and her followers have been gathering on social media and getting busy in the kitchen. The recipes from these sessions are featured in a new book, Bake Club: 101 Must-Have Moves for Your Kitchen.
Designed for baking newbies and seasoned pros, the cookbook covers all the categories of the baking universe—from English Muffins to Glazed Pumpkin Pie Bars, Gummy Bears to Crème Brulée—and empowers home bakers to just have fun and dispel all the baking misconceptions. (“I don’t have enough time.” “I don’t have the right ingredients.” “I’m a terrible baker.”) The 100-plus recipes that make up Bake Club are classic Tosi creations—simple, inviting, and eminently bakeable.
In conversation with Pati Jinich, chef, cookbook author, and host of the James Beard Award-winning PBS television series “Pati’s Mexican Table," Tosi discusses what Bake Club means to her and shares recipes from her newest cookbook and a few baking tips along the way.
