Please Note: This class has an updated schedule (originally January 19 to March 9, 2025).
Lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on experimentation introduce the medium of oil paint. Work from museum masterpieces, still-life arrangements, or your favorite photos to explore techniques that include color-mixing, scumbling, and glazing as you gain the technical background and experience needed to get started as a painter.
Guidelines for handling toxic chemicals and their waste products are stressed. Participants should have basic drawing skills for this class. The Drawing on the Right Side of Your Brain class is recommended as a good foundation for drawing skills.
