The Etruscans hold a reputation for being mysterious, but the truth is we know a lot about these creative ancient Italians and their remarkable contributions to the history of art. Contemporaries of the ancient Greeks and Romans, the Etruscans maintained a distinctive language and visual culture. Art historian and author Laura Morelli explores this culture using three samples of masterworks of Etruscan painting, sculpture, and metalwork excavated from tombs in central Italy.
