July 29 - August 2, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Campers spend a week discovering the amazing worlds hidden beneath the waves. They explore the creatures that live in the depths of the ocean and the diverse ecosystems that flourish there through visits to the National Zoo and Sant Ocean Hall in the Natural History Museum. A trip to the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center allows campers to engage with animals living in the Chesapeake Bay, discover their unique adaptations, and understand the challenges to their survival. Campers conduct experiments, create artworks, and play games designed to develop a new perspective on the 71% of the earth’s surface covered by water.
