Here in the shadow of Capitol Hill, campers dive deeper into the workings of all three branches of government to enhance their understanding of our Constitution, what it means to be an active citizen, and what makes our democracy so unique. By visiting the American History and African American History and Culture museums, the Portrait Gallery, and the National Archives, they trace the foundation of our rights through the documents and artifacts that define America. Campers work together as a legislative committee, the presidential cabinet, and the justices of the Supreme Court to propose a new bill, sign it into law, and avoid the dreaded veto.
