It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a…drone?! Have you ever wondered how and why things fly? Campers get some clues through visits to the Air and Space and Natural History museums and NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. They learn about human invention that takes us into the air, major historical figures in flight, as well as mythical flying characters such as Pegasus and gargoyles. They test their new aeronautical knowledge by building paper airplanes, helicopters, and other flying machines.
