What do old jeans, flowers from the garden, and dryer lint have in common? They can all be elements of beautiful custom-made papers. Campers combine a variety of ingredients to make their own specialty paper and learn the techniques of paper dyeing, marbling, embossing, sculpture, origami, and more. They see money being made at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, explore paper-based artworks at the American Art Museum, get a close-up view of artists’ books at Smithsonian Libraries, and meet local artists in their studios.
