In the spirit of the bold sailors of yesteryear, campers embark on their own journey to unknown adventures. They engineer their own model ships to race against one another; bring the deep-sea monsters they encounter at the Natural History Museum to life; and interpret ancient maps to create their own. They visit the American History Museum to trace the history of seagoing life, and the National Zoo to come face-to-face with the creatures they’d discover on the ocean’s surface and deep beneath it. On Friday, campers invite landlubbers to come aboard their vessel and sing a hearty sea shanty with them.
