Campers participate in NASA’s Mission X program to train like astronauts, then blast off for an adventure on the International Space Station. Through models, games, and activities, they experience what a day on the station is really like: how the crew members eat, sleep, walk in space, do research, and more. They create an indoor star show of constellations they’d see from the space station, and conduct extra-terrestrial experiments. Visits to the Air and Space Museum, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and Udvar-Hazy Center reveal more dimensions about what it’s like to be an astronaut. On Friday, families and friends on Earth view a special transmission of campers’ video diaries of their days in space.
