Calling all geosleuths: Come excavate the secrets of the Earth and beyond, from tectonic-plate movement to gem formation, volcanic eruptions to fossils and meteorites. Deep dives into the Natural History Museum’s online collections, home experiments in growing crystals, and group games reveal stories of the rocks beneath our feet. Can you dig it?
In grade-appropriate, week-long sessions, participants take a deep dive into the Smithsonian’s collections. These Adventures engage young people with unique content about natural sciences, history, art, and so much more. Weekday sessions explore a variety of Smithsonian topics and include virtual visits to museums, hands-on projects, games, collaborative challenges, and conversations with experts during 2 hours of live, online interaction with a team of experienced instructors.
Multiple Offerings! This Adventure is also offered at 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM ET. The same material will be taught in both sessions; please do not register for both.
