“We are looking for someone to share in an adventure we are arranging.” Will you join? Rising stars of the stage, lovers of Middle-earth, and everyone in between come together for a virtual production of scenes from The Hobbit. Working with actor and teaching artist Max Johnson, teens analyze scripts, watch clips of performances at the Smithsonian’s Discovery Theater, complete creative exercises inspired by magical artworks in museum collections, and examine the historical influences of acting, theater, and film.

Master Classes are week-long, focused studio courses where teens can develop specialized skills and interact with other teens, while learning from professional practitioners.  With two hours of daily live online workshops, teens will practice, experiment, and collaborate in the development of personal projects inspired by Smithsonian collections.

Registration for this Adventure will close two weeks prior to the first session date.  If you are trying to register after that point, please email us at SummerCamp@si.edu and we will do our best to accommodate your request if space is still available.
