Does it have four, six, or eight legs? Wings? Antennae? Young adventurers spend the week exploring the five categories of arthropods (insects are just one!), learning how to identify them and conducting experiments to understand how they live. Meet the musicians, superheroes, and masters of disguise of the bug world with virtual tours of the Natural History Museum’s Insect Zoo, the National Zoo, and Smithsonian Gardens.
Smithsonian Adventures and experts at the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center (SEEC) have partnered to make the world of the Smithsonian the perfect destination for young learners. In live, one-hour sessions, SEEC educators lead interactive explorations of objects and artworks in the Smithsonian’s collections that spark art making and experimentation.
Please note: these programs are not developed for children under five.
