Rose Trellis Egg, 1907, by Peter Carl Fabergé; Henrik Emanuel Wigström, workmaster (Walters Art Museum)

Spend a day sampling the distinctive decorative arts and music of tsarist Russia. Begin with a guided tour of the special exhibition Fabergé and the Russian Crafts Tradition: An Empire’s Legacy at the Walters Art Museum. Between 1885 and the revolution of 1917, Peter Carl Fabergé’s workshop created exquisite decorative objects for the tsars. The exhibition includes more than 70 stunning objects that highlight the extraordinary artistry of Russian jewelers and enamel-workers, including the Walters’ two Fabergé Easter eggs.

After lunch at a Russian restaurant, attend a private performance of arias and art songs with commentary by Russian-trained pianist and vocal coach Vera Danchenko-Stern, who teaches at the Peabody Conservatory.

Fringe stop at about 9:40 a.m.
