Do you wonder which cocktail is ideal to close your dinner parties? Or perhaps you simply want a drink that’s worthy of being your final pour of the evening. Whether looking to induce a good night’s rest or conclude a festive evening, the nightcap is the perfect way to close the day.

Join author Kara Newman, spirits editor of Wine Enthusiast, for a captivating discussion on the history of the nightcap, including its non-alcoholic origins and its role in the modern-day cocktail canon. Explore what makes a cocktail or straight spirit the perfect way to end the night while also discussing what bartenders think of when they designate a drink as a nightcap.

Enjoy a guided tasting of various nightcap-style drinks to end the evening in style. Light refreshments are also on the menu. D.C.-based Don Ciccio & Figli supplies some of the cocktail ingredients.

Newman’s book Nightcap: More Than 40 Cocktails to Close Out Any Evening (Chronicle Books) is available for purchase and signing. Cheers!

All participants must be 21 or over.
