Through the power of technology, anything can become a musical instrument. Campers collect and produce interesting and original sounds and construct real-world interfaces to control them. Using microphones, computer programs, and everyday materials, they create interactive virtual instrument sculptures that allow them to perform music in their own way. This interdisciplinary camp brings together art, science, and technology and features visits to the African American History and Culture Museum and access to the Smithsonian’s extensive online collection of sounds and music.
