In the 4th century BC, Philip of Macedon skillfully transformed a weak, disorganized country into a powerful force, leading to the subjugation of all of Greece and paving the way for Alexander the Great’s subsequent conquest of the Persian Empire. Campers investigate the histories and cultures of Greece, Macedonia, and the Persian Empire during this historical period. They build their own dioramas of battlefields or the city of Persepolis, and paint and detail figures of Persians, Macedonians, and Athenian and Theban Greeks. A visit to the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore sparks their creativity and imagination.
