Fifty years ago, humans took their first steps on the moon. Join in the celebration of this amazing feat of science, engineering, and collaboration. Campers reconstruct a scale version of the Apollo 11 command module Columbia and explore the 3D digitization of the spacecraft to feel what it was like to be one of the astronauts on that mission. They encounter artifacts from this historic mission (even getting to touch a piece of the moon) during visits to the Air and Space Museum, the Udvar-Hazy Center, and NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. They read star charts, learn about the people in space and on the ground that made the Apollo 11 mission possible, and create space-inspired artworks.
