Grab your seats for a week of laughter as campers guffaw, chuckle, and snicker their way through American history. They discover the power of comedy as they study ways in which the performing art changed American culture and society through visits to the American History Museum, Portrait Gallery, and African American History and Culture Museum. Campers dissect the comedy behind satirized depictions of the US and the USSR during the Space Race, and recognize the front-line roles comedians played in the Civil Rights movement. As they enhance their performance skills through improv games, the young comedians prepare sketches about American history to perform in a Friday showcase.
