Mastering the Masters

August 12 - 16, 2019, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Code: 3A0381

Ever look at a piece of art in a museum and wonder what went into its creation? Campers get the answers on visits to the National Gallery of Art, African Art Museum, and the Hirshhorn. As they view works by the great masters, they learn about their inspirations and methods. Then campers head back to the studio and use their imaginations to create many different types of art influenced by what they’ve seen. At the end of the week, they proudly display their own masterpieces inspired by Matisse, Kandinsky, and Picasso.
