Sing with the Smithsonian Encore Chorale

Weekly Rehearsals plus Concert Performance

Wed., Jan. 18 - May 2, 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon

The Encore Chorale, now in its fourth year, begins early in the new year with weekly rehearsals of popular songs, Broadway musical selections, spirituals, opera, and operettas, led by professional conductor Jeanne Kelly.

The class is designed for adults 55 and above and is instructive and enjoyable. Learn proper breathing techniques and how to improve your voice through tone production as Kelly guides participants through weekly rehearsals in four-part singing.

The series culminates in performances with other Encore Chorales (dates to be determined). Encore Chorale is the nation’s largest and fastest growing choral program for older adults. See why!

Kelly, former conductor of the Georgetown University Concert Choir and music director of the U.S. Naval Academy Women’s Glee Club, is the founder and president of Encore Creativity Arts for Older Adults EncoreCreativity.org.

15 sessions plus performance

No audition required; participants should be 55 or older.

No class on Feb. 29.
