Clear your calendars-- “The Greatest Party Ever” is happening right at Discovery Theater, and you’re invited! Of course it IS the title of the first CD by NYC band Tim & the Space Cadets. But we’re psyched! It also describes the party hardy feelin’ enjoyed by tot audiences, whenever this group of musicians gets going.

Tim and his first mate Matt Puckett (guitar, backup vocals) put their heads together to write songs that exist somewhere in the realm between Raffi and Blink-182, fueled by memories of  pizza parties, summer camp and family vacations. Tim and his cadets look like the kids next door… But they have played music festivals like Lollapalooza and venues like Sesame Place and the Intrepid Museum, one of the Big Apple’s largest concert spaces.  "The Greatest Party Ever" weaves their witty, fun, and heartwarming lyrics through textured pop tunes, rockin’ dance jams, and slow sweet melodies.

Our friends from Jammin' Java, the Virginia coffeehouse and music club, are an expert in children’s music entertainment and we’re joining forces to bring the best in family friendly music right to your favorite Smithsonian destination. This special series features rockin’ dance party concerts for children ages 2-6, with a complimentary cup of Jammin’ Java coffee and snacks on the side for their grown-ups. There will be plenty of room for your tot to dance around and you’ll have the chance to connect with other parents while the kids enjoy the concert!

Everyone must have a ticket to enter (including infants).
