DISCOVERY THEATER: Lesole South Africa
Meet the Museum: Natural History
Wednesday, June 26, 2013 - 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The educational content in this program is recommended for children ages 5 and up.
Dance your way to the tip of the African continent! Experience four exciting cultures! Traditional Ndlamudance from Zulu villages that give a snapshot of the clothing, customs, live drumming and high energy of South Africa; the moves and percussive sounds of Gumboot, a kind of "instant messaging" dance slapped out on gold miners' rubber boots; Pantsula, an upbeat urban dance like American hip-hop but with a cultural twist; and Tswana, a very energetic traditional dance form. Don’t be surprised when members of the audience are invited onstage to learn them as well!
-EVERYONE must have a ticket to enter; including children under the age of 2 (select ‘Child Under 2’ from above price types).
-Seating is at the discretion of House Management based on theater size and the number of people attending the show. You may be asked to sit in a designated section/area of the theater or auditorium.
